The center is driven by the Berlin Fraunhofer Institutes FOKUS, HHI, IPK and IZM. With a global reputation for research in ICT as well as applied research, these institutes are excellently positioned for those areas affected by digitalization. The center is based on extensive preparatory work: in the last 5 years research projects on this subject amounted to approximately 280 Million Euro. Furthermore there exists a close cooperation with the Universities in Berlin and with the University of Potsdam and the Hasso-Plattner-Institute.
The center is funded with a total of 6.4 Million € by the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Senate Chancellery – Department for Research and Technology as well as from Regional Development Funds (EFRE).
