Conformable Sensor Systems

IoT –Systems were built to be integrated in all kinds of surroundings. They are meant to blend in and adapt to environmental conditions and geometric forms. For example implementing new sensors supporting building surveillance must not lead to construction works on the building. This project is working on sensor networks that are both flexible and resilient against hard environmental conditions. 

The sensor modules are constructed modularly and include several wireless interfaces like Bluetooth LE and LoRa. These sensors build out of single components use innovative thermoplastic substrate materials. The electronic technology is embedded in a homogenous, multi-layer, undividable substrate matrix, ensuring both resilience and flexibility. For example, these sensors can be built on to pillars, as they adapt to the form.
