i-Wireless

The project i-Wireless stands for Industrial Wireless and Edge Clouds for the control and monitoring of processes and plants.

In this project a holistic approach is followed to the introduction of wireless sensors and actuators in machines, tools and components as well as the integrating and networking of the data generated by these to cloud infrastructures via mobile wireless, optical communication technologies and semantics. In doing so the highest requirements of future manufacturing and assembly cells must be met. Criteria are real-time latency (in dynamic measurement tasks), guaranteed availability (e.g. in time critical or security critical control tasks), maintaining the required quality and reliability in data acquisition and forwarding as well as the end-to-end quality of service and maintaining data security requirements.
